What a great weekend spent 4 days fishing with my Son, we caught about 30 large mouth bass and just had a great time. Coming home was a little eventful, the fuel pump died on my truck about 40 miles from home. So rather than get towed or try to fix it on the side of a narrow highway. I get in the boat and cut the fuel line from the front tank to the motor and hook it up to the spare boat tank, than with the squeeze primer pump and the 6-gallon boat tank in the truck my son pumped the gas to the carburetor. Of course I grabbed the extra Fire extinguisher out of the boat just incase. I must say this worked very well except when going 85 MPH to pass someone, my son couldn’t pump fast enough to feed the big block.
Aint nothing redneck about it. Around here 'redneck' is a term that someone uses instead of saying "dam, thats a great ingenious way to get out of a bind, i wish i was so bright as to have figured that out if i was in that situation."
Im not referring to you Snake, your comment just got me to thinking...
Just watch. When your son grows up and takes his kids fishing, this will probably be the story he tells the most! Near disasters on trips make the best storys. Example: My family has gone camping for as far back as I can remember. Dad would start getting ready a week or two before the trip. He would make equipment lists, check the gear, check the car, and then double check everything as he packed the car. The trip I remember most is when we got to the campground and found he had forgotten the tent poles! The measure of the man came when he chearfully slung ropes over tree branches to hold the tent up and christened it "Camp Nopoles". My son always mentions the disasterous first camping trip I took him on. So celebrate those near disasters because they will be the cherished memories later on.

Thats what I was saying, that was a damn ingenious way to get out of a bad spot. Hell I am a redneck, I'm not going to put myself down, well, unless I've been drinking some shine.
