You cant really.
You can kinda get close though. Take your old leafs off and then pull a string tight eye to eye and then measure from above the mounting location to the string. Then do the same to the aftermarket lift leaves and find the difference between the two. The only thing that makes this not entirely accurate is the fact that their spring rates and max load ratings will be different. That will usually make the lift leaves compress more under the wait of the truck... If you have the part numbers then just look it up on the manufactures websight...

its a tough country and the #is tcif2502e and even worse its a 2.5 lift but what is funny i measured the rear adda leaf and i strung the string across the top of the spring and measured out from the centering hole and it measures 4in i dont really understand how a lift kit gives the truck hight i really was under the impression that they would stack six in of springs from longest to shortest wich is way off i guess its all about the arch of the spring

hahaha, 6" of springs? dang that'd be funny.

the only way i can think of is what Raw suggested, use the stock springs and compare them side by side.

where did you order them from (please do not say 4 wheel parts)?

well it wasnt 4 wheel parts it was jc whitney the reason they gave me for the mix up is that the f350 pickup singal rear wheel didnt have a dana 60 it only came with ifs wich is bull any way cause it still dosent explain how they ended up sending me a 2.5 lift instead of a 6in lift . what are you going to do at least i didnt go through the trouble of putting them on the truck then i would be really mad

the 350 only had ttb(ifs) from 80-85....basically the same suspension as the 250 4x4's with the ttb dana 50 from 80-97

The manufacturer's? They have formulas and that cwaziness... and im sure theres a lot of trial and error involved in producing a new product as well.

There are a lot of people on here who have built their own lift kits. as a matter of fact, Im right in the middle of building mine.

Rear shackle flip for the rear, easy to do:

Front shackle reversal, little more fabrication skills needed:

If pics dont show, in order:

I have an extra leaf spring in the rear end of my truck, i measured it to add about 2 inches to the truck so sitting stock it sets at an angle, i too ordered a 3" lift online and had it put on. not the front sits about 3" higher then stock (bcuz its a 3" lift lol) and the back sits 4.5-5" higher then stock due to extra leaf spring...

Two tries on the rear, and im still 2.5" too short, with about 4 degrees too much on the pinion. One try on the front, till in the middle of it. I will have to put an add a leaf in the rear, but first I want to swap out the shackles. I cant do that yet because I havent made the new ones, but cant make them until I find either a 3" x1.15"OD x0.55"ID or 3" x1.25"OD x0.55"ID puloy or rubber bushing. BUT I cant find them anywhere bc no one will look them up because they are all listed for certain models of trucks, not by size. And EnergySuspension hasn't replied yet.

I am using 6" skyjackers with the shackle flipped rear and 6" skyjackers with the shackle reversal on the front. The shackle flipped rear only gave me about 4", and the leaves only gave me 4.5"ish because they are softrides and I have a diesel.

Your F700 leaves sound interesting. I am not sure if that would be the greatest idea, but maybe it would work out perfect. Heres what we need to know to be able to tell how it will compair as far as lift & ride compaired to the stock leaves.

Measurements on both stock leaf springs and F700 leaf springs eye-to-eye distance.
Measurements on both stock leaf springs arch and F700 leaf springs arch. (measured by doing the string test like I said above on the other post).
Measurements on both stock leaf springs and F700 leaf springs individual leaf thickness.
And the number of leaves in each pack.

If you can tell me all that I can tell you if its going to ride like crap or if it will work out.
What year F350 are we talking, and what engine?

Thumbs up

I ordered a 6" SkyJacker lift kit and literally put the weight of the truck on the front springs as soon as they arrived. I jacked up the front and placed one spring up-side-down directly under the axle's spring pad and lowered the truck on it. In this particular instance, I also had to stack up several "free weights" under each end of the spring to make it flex fully before the truck's wheel hit the ground. It was either that, or remove the wheel, which I figured wasn't a good idea. This will at least give you an idea of the amount of lift to expect.

its a 1986 f350 with a 351w all trickd out the f700 springs are the same thickness as the f350 springs i was going to cut them apart and add them under the stock leafs by finding the longest one and adding it to the bottom of the stock leafs and build it down till it gets to the smalest one on the bottom but im trying not to use more than 7 spring under it i already tryd last night but had no dice i was thinking about having the front springs re archd as far as the spring shop can arch them and then add a few leafs to follow the contour of the spring all the way down does this sound crazy or what if its any help to you i have two brand new sets of stock cab mounts that maybe will help you out on your bushing quest i think. i allso have a dana 60 rear steering axle i bought on ebay and im not sure what i can do for the lift in the back if just adding leafs will work or if i need to mount font leafs in the rear or what the guy i bought it from said that i was the first person he had made a rear steering axle for that wasent going to be put in a jeep but he said on the jeep app thy can just use rear springs but he wasent sure if the centering holes will line up on the rear sprins or not he dosent see why not cause it was a rear end to begin with but id like to tackle the front first before i get into the rear steering mess oh yeah buy the way the truck is still just aframe in my garage no body no motor nothing just the fram should i put the truck together and then add the lift kit of should i do it now thanks sean
