Red face alternator wire size?

I bought a aftermarket alternator rated at 130 Amps to replace the factory alternator which could not keep up since I changed to electric fans. the factory alternator is rated at 95 amps.

the truck is a 1995 F150 xlt 4x4 5.0 auto trans. what is the factory charging wire size?

the aftermarket company recommends 4 AWG. Don't have a clue about wire size.

4 gauge is noit the greatest to use. 2 gauge is perfered so you know it will not melt down. See it happen with not big enough. burns in half

btw, the smaller the gauge, the thicker the wire is.

Installed powermaster alternator today and added a 2 guage wire with a fuse, from back of alternator to fuse to battery terminal , works great , can run a/c, electric fan , headlights etc, and vottage stays in range , before if idling truck would turn off, and alt gauge would go to the low side. now stays inbetween the r and the m of normal.
