Fuel Injector Question
I am currently rebuilding a 1989 351W (fuel injected obviously). As I began to remove the injectors I noticed that some had a little red cap on the end of them while others had broken off. My guess is that these caps are to prevent carbon build up on the injectors. I have not been able to locate new caps in order to replace the broken ones. Are there any suggestions on where to find these caps or do I even need them to begin with?

You can buy rebuild kits. They come with new pintle caps, o-rings and internal filters. I'll try and find the site.
I got mine from this guy. It's an ebay auction. #8043592113. He ships them fast and it only takes a few minutes to do.

Thank you for your help Kemicalburns and ChargerFan. The reason why I removed the injectors in the first place was because I was rebuilding the motor completely. I have never rebuilt a motor for an automobile before. I was told to remove the injectors in order to clean the intake. Was it not necessary to remove the injectors?

if your cleaning the intake then yes you were doing right. what all are you doing to the motor? any upgrades? there are some things that can be done that wont freak the sd computer out if your interested. give some nice gains
