oIL PRESSURE
Alright all I have had a heck of a time with my stock cluster oil gage... it freaks out sometimes and then goes back to the top part of the normal area and remains there for weeks on end.... I don't know what the problem is, but I finally got a seperate gage that idicates numerical values and senses real pressure without electrcal signal.... I was curious as to what the oil pressure should be... at idle..... while running..... I am used to gas engines so it seems a little wierd.....

My normal hot idle is about 8 PSI.
Normal at highway speed is about 35 to 40.
For a couple of minutes after a long haul at high RPM's idle pressure will be around 4 or 5 till it cools off a bit.

I would be much more comfortable with more that I have, but I can also say that after having three reman engines in my truck in a year and a half thet that is about the average I saw with them.
