NP 208 to NP205 swap

I have an 84 F150 with New Process 208 transfer case bolted to a C-6. I recently acquired a New Process 205 transfer case that was bolted to a C-6 out of a 78 F250, thay I want to put in my truck. Should this be an easy swap, or should I expect problems?

Thanks

You will need to fab a new mount for the 205, lengthen the rear driveshaft and shorten the front. I did the swap on my 81 Bronco. It wasn't too bad. The 205 is a bit shorter than the 208 making the driveshafts not work. Also its a lot heavier so build a sturdy mount.

Ok, thanks.

I was hoping it would be just a straight swap. The t-case is very heavy,, that is for sure.
