Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on my truck. I have a 1979 F250 4x4 Dana 60 front and rear with worn out 33" tires. When I am running down the road the truck feels as if it is floating on air, and the steering wheel has a lot of slack in it. It is easy to turn the wheels to the left at a stop or slow roll, but very difficult to the right.
This is a hunting/fishing truck and was not taken care of before me, but I want to fix it up slowly (I hope). Any ideas? I think that it needs a steering stabilizer, but I do not think that is all. Thanks for any ideas.
If you have not replaced and front parts the problem/s could be any of the following:
Column bearings
steering shaft u-joints
gear box
ball joints
tie rod ends
axle shaft u-joints
alignment
anything bent under the front including the frame
Lifted and the wrong parts
Any one and most likely several are the problems above are the reason!
