I just ordered mine and only got the fronts. The rears will be new as well, but they'll be Brembo. Hawk pads all around.

john, just curious, why the brembos in the rear. i got the ps rotors, not the cryos in the front and i honestly think that the truck takes longer to stop. dont like the pedal feel either. i was thinkink of doing a 4 wheel big brake kit from baer or brembo soon. any sugestions?? anyone?/?

Well, the advice I was given here and what I know about previous vehicles say the great majority of the stopping power comes from the front wheels. The rears don't have to be setup as nicely and will still provide all the stopping ower needed to supplement the fronts. Since cost is a factor in my buying decisions, the Brembo/ Hawk combo seemed to be a nice compromise.

FYI, my 2000 Ltd. V-10 4x4 pulled my nearly 9000 lb TT 5000 miles last year after being picked up used and sight unseen and carrying over 93,000 miles. From what the RV dealer told us, the truck had not likely seen a day of towing in its life before we got to it. This is an impressive truck.

thanks, i was wondering if the brembo or baer setup would be better for me. since i put my new 22" wheels on it doesnt want to stop that well. i think i need new calipers and larger rotors. looks like i have some looking to do. thanks john.

RACERX7775,

Deepending on which Hawk pads you got you could have hurt your stopping distances initallly. Unless you tow 100% of the time you should have gotten the LTS pad or even the HPS is you tow rarely to never! THE Super Duty pad is very very able to take heat and such form heavy towing but it won't get you that nose over braking impression till it's been on the truck a while. Plus if you have a spongy brake pedal most likely you got air in the systems when you pushed the pistons back in their bores when you installed the new pads. The Poweslot rotor is thicker than the OEM one and you have to seat the pistons nearly 100% and getting air in can happen. It will make the brakes real spongy too. You need to flush brake fluid every 50,000 or so miles anyway so do that and a good beleeding job and I bet the hard pedal is back!! Changing rotors and pads won't get you a soft pedal as they are hard parts and won't flex or allow the system to become soft.
