Thank you for the correction, pronstar. I should have let you answer for the Procharger... it's better to get the info from an actual owner. I was using research and had to guess... I knew it didn't use a tapped to engine oil system, but for some reason I was thinking it had an external oil pump and cooler.
The oil thing is sort of a toss-up for me.
On the one hand, I wasn't comfortable tapping my pan with a Vortech unit.
On the other hand, the only way to change the Procharger oil is to remove the head unit and belt, and you have to do this every 6K miles...plus use special oil only available from Procharger.
Takes about 30 minutes total to do...but not as easy as just changing your engine oil!
That was one of my biggest concerns when I had the Vortech fitted (oil pickup).
The people that fitted it (CAPA), did a remarkably good job of it.
I had a pressure sensor fitted to the oil feed, and while it occasionally did get surge it was pretty good (bear in mind, I used to autocross with it though).
Oil Temps were same as prior to fitment, I just added another 1/3 quart of Mobil 1 to the sump, and it had a small oil cooler made up or it.
