What should the temp sensor resistance read for a 97 Explorer 4.0 OHV? Does ohms=temperature?
I'm getting exactly 50 degress difference between infrared thermometer and multimeter reading. 120 ohms vs 170 degrees.
Truck has 180k, assuming temp sensor has never been replaced. I couldnt find any info about resistance range for temp sensor in my Haynes manual. Also, this is for the gauge sensor, not the ECU.

ECT and IAT sensor readings (this applies to 95 Explorer, but should serve as a good general guide)
