Polk Speakers

Currently, I have an Alpine deck and am pushing a 12" shallow mount pioneer premium sub that really thumps. My new concern is that my stock speakers are not adequate anymore and it is time for new ones. My buddy runs Polks, and they are awesome. My question is that my truck is a 99 superduty extended cab, and crutchfield pulls up either 5 1/4" or 6x8" speakers. I want to also run components in the front at least. So what size do I go with for speakers. I am leaning towards 5 1/4" in the front.

Your doors are a 5x7/6x8 size. There are many component systems that come in this size. I demo in my Excursion a set of DB Drive 5x7 Components with the tweeter mounted by the mirror. In my wifes Expedition she has the DB Drive 5x7 components where the tweeter is still on the speaker like a coaxial but they have a crossover network. I didn't want to mount anything on her door. Many manufacturers offer both of these these.
