Red spark from distributor/coil?

i would have to agree with monty and kernal-panic it sounds like the pins on the pick up coil are messed up. i would double and triple check that,if that looks good then check your timing to make sure the chain didn't jump time.i had that happen to me one time with a chevy 350 engine while idling at a traffic light. just put a timing light on it while trying to crank it and make sure it's on 10 deg btdc on #1 cyl
