How can i test the ebpv or the sensor to find out if one is bad or stuck?
If the sensor is bad it should throw a code and trip your SES light.U need to run diagnostics on the pcm to test the sensor. R U getting any codes?

Do you guys have picture of the EBPV......I recently removed and cleaned the sensor (nasty) and now when it is cold, the truck sounds horrible when you hold constant throttle.....as long as it is accelerating to even out at a given throttle....nothing....but when it does level out then it feels like it is loosing power and sounds horrible.
The Haynes (or chilton) doesnt seem to have a good pic.

When it levels out it makes this hissing sound or pressure bleeding off sound.
That's completely normal. The EBPV is actively being controlled to open and close partially to help warm the motor. If u put the engine under load the EBPV opens completely and then returns to a more closed postion for warming.

Thanks Kwik, I had debated on something similar to a long pipe cleaner but didnt know whether it would be okay to push it back into the exhaust manifold.

It's just soot and it will pass through the turbo no sweat. As soon as you start the motor it will be gone and before the turbo even has a chance to start spinning.
Just got done with the hub lubrication after seeing Guzzle's photo directions. Will be doing the caliper slide pins soon. Trying to get the speedo calibrated before going on vacation at the end of the month.
wheres the ebpv located??? wondering if this is my ses problem??truck seems fine when cold but runs rough when warmed and ses light comes on solid until next am when its cold again.

EBPV is located in the outlet of the turbine housing. It's kinda like a woodstove damper plate in the stovepipe. The EBP sensor is located in front of the HPOP reservoir and just above the water pump. The sensor is at the end of a brass tube coming from right exhaust manifold.
