I finally got my '41 into my working garage. I'm so sorry, I was distracted with a couple of Chebby projects, and the poor '41 had to weather the winter outside under it's car cover, with the bed FULL of new pieces parts still in unopened boxes !
I finally moved her inside and started busting the sheetmetal etc off, removed the front spring and radiator getting ready to pull the Flattie and overhaul it as I redo the whole chassis front to back. New Ford 8" rearend, drop axle up front, C-4 Auto tranny, new gas tank....yada yada yada. It's only taken me 4 years to get re-started on this, hopefully I'll finish it in less than four.
Sorry to say that we're still not anywhere near getting back to our '41. Between moving, changing jobs and many other distractions, our truck is on hold for a while longer.
Thanks for the welcome back Carlene, trust me, you'll get back to it soon. I just got side tracked with other projects, and had reached an indecision point on what power plant to proceed with on the truck. I bought a 302 engine with a C-4 attached just to get the C-4, and then couldn't decide whether to toss the Flathead or rebuild it. Now I'm going to keep and redo the Flathead, back it with the C-4. I started this weekend getting the new Chassis Engineering front suspension parts ready. I plan the suspend a Granada 8" rearend with a Posie's parallel leaf setup in the rear. etc et etc.
Congrats on getting restarted.
The 40-41's are my fave body style of all Ford trucks, maybe all vehicles period. I sold mine in a weak moment and will never be able to afford to replace it, but really admire those who have these beautiful trucks.
Please dont stick a SBC in it! Every time i see that it's like finding a beautiful set of perfect breasts, on a man.
