1979 F-250 Value???
I have the chance to buy a nice 1979 F-250 XLT 2WD. The truck has 83,000 original miles with a 460 4 barrel and C6 transmission. The body is very solid. I would rate the overall condition a 7 or 8 out of 10. The only rust is some minor rot above the rear wheel wells. Anyone know approximately what this truck would be worth??

With rot above the wheel wells there is probably a lot more that is not visible like body mounts, floor pans, frame, etc. Unfortunately there is no way to know. A professional auto appraiser should be consulted to check out the vehicle. They can see leaks or rust and hear noises etc. They know where to look. There is no way we can give any sort of value on a truck of this age other than pure wild guesses. Check your local yellow pages for appraisers in your area.

I suggest .....to get a value on a truck........ it is best to do it locally, where a person can actually see, feel,smell and test drive a truck.
No one can do it accurately being hundreds & thousands miles away on a comouter.

Just for comparison, I bought mine (F-250 4X4 400 / C6) with Western Pro-plow in Alaska for $4500 a few years ago. No rust except over rear wheel wells and spots in bed. Seat was shot, but rest of interior was fine.
