the 08 will be comeing out shortly after new year new 07 most likly late jan or early feb. this will be most likly due to the new emmission laws starting on jan 01,07 on the diesels and stiffer laws on the gas motors.
also if one reads the 07 spec sheet. ford it seems has dropped the v10 engine from the super duty. if it's coming out later who knows . right now it can't be speced ford locks the code out of the build computer. as it dose with a stick trans . so they have some very fast catching up to do with size and hp for the gas super duty. like who will buy a gaser with only a 5.4 automatic option as now listed .
and yes word of the boss/Hurricane engine has again come to light at the talked about spec of 6.2 liters just slightly above gm's 6.0 small block v8 and under dcx'z new hemi. plus imm they had better take a good look at a motor gm already has running in the vett that could be detuned from it's now 505 hp. the z06 option is a 7.0 L 427 inch small block that in vett tune puts out 505 hp and 600 fp. and is being played with by gm in the blue devil test bed at at 700 rumered hp with a blower on it.
also ford closed the windsor canada iron block casting plant and told the remaining casting plant they will be gearing them up for 2 new to them iron engine blocks. what motors and just when we still don't know. all that can be done is to keep finding the way into the uaw's cleveland casting web site area and see what gets posted about new production and when it starts up. then we should know the name and other released information.
time is going to tell us whats true and not true .lets wait and see .keep hitting the uaw web sites for information
I've read in multiple places today that the Boss/Hurricane project was going to be introduced on 2008 in an early '09 full sized truck line, perhaps with a model intro in early January 2008. Depending on the date written the production was to be at the Windsor Plant, but recently it has been noted that the Cleveland plant is mentioned as the casting facility. Is the Windsor plant being idled or reassigned? It may be, as Ford has done in the recent past, where they hold onto a model or engine while they retool for the next. My personal speculation is that they will merge the SuperDuty and F150 body styles again, to save on manufacturing costs.
No one seems to be talking about whether it's going to be an OHC or a pushrod. I would hope that they don't exactly sell the OHC down the river yet. The word is that the bore will be larger but the stroke will be shorter than the 5.4. If so, I don't see how that will help their engineers produce torque necessary of a truck.

Ford's "Hurricane" engine back on track
Last year Ford product planners killed the Hemi-fighting Hurricane engine. Now it's back on the production table, probably for 2008, and most likely in an F-Series truck. This is good news for Ford horsepower junkies.
Snippet: Erich Merkle, a brand analyst with IRN Inc. in Grand Rapids, is not surprised Ford decided to revive the Hurricane.
“They’ve got to do something from a powertrain perspective if they’re going to hold on to the F-series’ lead,” he said, noting that both GM and Chrysler have more powerful engines on the market, particularly in their trucks and sport utilities.
“Ford has nothing,” Merkle said. “Without those bigger options, they are going to have a hard time competing.”
