If it is as anothe poster from down under has stated, big blocks are hard to come up with down there, just weren't available, they got to keep the Clevelands longer, but that was the largest motor available to them.
I'm not sure that that motor is avaialable to us here, so as for getting it hooked in and plugged in, you likely will be a pioneer in doing it. Main things to watch are the motor length and the oil pan shape. COmmon swap here is the Cummins 6 cylinder. I did one myself, and wasn't too bad. Just have to do some research and figuring to see if you think it can be done.
Sorry, but Isuzu diesel > Ford big block. I like big blocks and Fords, but Isuzu isn't probably the world's biggest commercial truck maker for nothing.
As big of a market that Isuzu has in Oz, I'd think it be somewhat easy to find a complete cube van drivetrain to swap in. You'll need it.
I have looked at some sites in the US and wish we had as many eng's and parts here to play with, big blocks are all good but the rebuild cost is also big in the land down under remembering everything is an import with tax and freight and handling charges$$$$$, the cummins is an option but has big rebuild cost also, just looking for a big bang for my buck and thought that someone over there may have done a refit on an Isuzu 175hp Turbo 6 as here the rebuild cost is only AU$1900 , and they give 7-12 kpl in a 8ton truck and for my 92 f250 X ambulance at 3300kg should give a good return as the 351W efi go's like a cut snake I have to tow a tanker to feed it at 4.5 kpl, the corner store for me is 150km away and a department store or good auto parts shop is 1200km. Interested in finding out what the 6BT cummins returns in fuel spec's from a fitter in F Series.
Haven't run mine on the road enough to know yet, (still other things to take care of first) but the reports I get back from others that are is 18-20 mpg (us, hopefully you know how to convert, I don't, sorry) which is damned good for a full size truck. I would expect the Isuzu to be about the same. If you could snag a full powertrain, you could probably get it in there somehow. I did the Cummins without the kits, main issue was motor mounts over anything. I suspect the issue you will have the biggest problem with is that your front frame cross is going to be different than what I had which is bad news. I started with a 460 cross, which ends up being the same as a diesel cross. You mau have to do a bit of fabricating to make that work out. If my guess is right, you have a big hole around the oil filtere on the left side of the motor in the frame. If so, you will have a bit more work, but still doable.
I have workrd many years on the isuzu range and I think the 6bd motor is far too big and heavy. You would be better off with a cummins6BT 8-10Km per Lt
