I have a 1970 ford f-100 with the stock 302...
I've installed a pertronix ignition system on my truck and i was wondering if anyone else has done the same and if so where do i hook the red wire from the ignitor? i dont really know much about the ballast resistor...i hooked the red wire directly tothe battery like the instructions said to do as a test and it runs great so, where is the ballast resistor?

this Topic #2270 has what i beleave you need. http://www.galaxieclub.com/petronix.html go to this site for complete detail .Look at Pertronix.com under tech support
i have a 1972 F250 with a 351W i also installed a pertonix as well as a 6A MSD box along with a Blaster SS coil. love it. works great. as fro the red wire you did the right thing. NO NEED for a balist resistor. it would acctualy hurt the performance. i got this info and help with my instilation from RPM machine shop in Rohnert Park CA.
It's actualy a resistance wire. It runs from the ignition switch to the
distributor as I recall. The wire is of a proper guage so as to cause
the correct resistance called for. Where as other systems use a resistor
somewhere under the hood to do the same thing.
Stock .352, 2bbl... trying to be more fuel efficient, and get better performance. Just picked up the Pertronix Ignitor with high voltage coil, have the 7mm wires on order and installing Splitfire plugs... what is the best recommendation for a cap and rotor to hold up to the increased spark, or is stock ok?
Open to suggestions, thanks!
