I am thinking of installing a **** insider rear view mirrror in my 05 250 SD reg cab this truck you could not get this from the factory. Has anyone done this and is it a bad job to do. Also who has the best price on the mirror with compass and temperature auto dimming mirror.

i have read lots of forums on this issue... i was going to do the same, and a lot of readers recommend using GENTEX mirrors. i have seen them on ebay for reasonable prices. they even come with homelink to open the garage door !

97F250XLT, let us know how it goes if you do this. I would like to do it also. I don't understand why Ford would not put these mirror in at the factory with the XLT trim. I would also like to have leather seats with heat. I just about bought a chevy( oh how that hurts) because of these options. Maybe in 08 or 09.

97f250xlt, I have an 05 f350 4x4 CC Larit. I did this mod on my truck. I'm no expert but found it petty simply to do. I did get help on the electric here. I got my mirror from Northern tool+equipment(NT); $199 + Shipping. Its a MAGNA/Magna donnelly, item # 330387-1605.

Look on ebay. You can pick up used ones for next to nothing. I picked up an auto dim from a used Bonneville for $ 19.00 shipping included. I installed it and it works perfect. 1hr. install at best.
