I plan to make this meet. Can the Memphis area members meet somewhere & travel as a group to Paris?
I'm thinking about that, seems to me there's a small truckstop on I 40 near Arlington (first one you see going out of Memphis to the east) but I don't remember the mile marker.
I suppose I could plant myself there with an FTE sign in the front window of my truck, maybe a blue oval with FTE in the middle of it.
That way instead of going somewhere else like Atoka before we head out, we'd already be on I 40 at the join up point. It would also be a good opportunity to refuel and grab some road munchies/soda/coffee.
Besides - I could add to my die-cast collection!
What is the best time to be there considering the road time to get to Paris, ya figure?
Sorry to hear that Bud Dog, But I do hope she does well!!
Hey Greywolf,
What route are Y'all gonna take? If you meet at the Pilot truck stop at exit 42, you can go north from there on tn222 toward stantonville and then take U.S.79, that will take you thru Milan, tn. I could join up with the group there. theres an Ag center just east of town. From the truck stop to paris is 89 miles (2 hours or a little less).
As for a flight schedule, Depends on what everyone wants to do. The small parade downtown is at 10am, Catfish race (whatever this may be) is @ 10 also. The catfish is not being served till 11am (I ponder that the losers of the race get fried?) Junior fishing rodeo @ noon Then theres the carnival all day.
Speed limits along US79 is as follows Gas it, brake it, gasssssss it, BRAKE Speedtrap, traffic light or two, and so forth.
P.S> as for c.b. channel we have 39 choices. We call ch.19, sesame street, for a reason, sounds like a bunch of children on the play ground. I guess we could use ch. FOuR(d)???????????????
