This is a weird axle... It should have the drivers side as a flat top and the pass side not... IF it is the same as a 78 F150 D44
Edit: NM its too early to think... the D44 HD should be the same as a D60 from '78, they do share the same knuckles if I remember correctly. But then again, its early.
Nope, HD44 and D60's do NOT use the same knuckles. You should be axle to get a machine shop to flat mill the top of that D44 knuckle and then drill and tap once you have the high steer arm. I'd imagine this will cost $100 or so.
hmm, perhaps I am thinking of D50 knuckles being able to swap onto D60's then?
I dont know what Im thinking anymore...
Edit: BTW you and pro's little stunt of switching avatars is really confusing. Yall have both had the originals for many years up until now. Both of yall switched about a month after I joined... And this is my new theory. The switching of avatars has left me without logic. My brain is lost. ahhhhhhhhhhh
well yesterday was really weird... welder, plasma cutter, and air compressor all broke. cross threaded 2 bolts, cut myself multiple times with the damn grinder bc i took the guard off bc i bought 5" wheels for it, ours is 4.5"... And lost things within 5 seconds of setting them down.. and... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!1 WAAAAAAAAA!!!
Now im totally lossed. I just called 4 Wheel Parts and they said Someone swapped axles in my truck because ford used ttb in 1978 not the solid axle like I have. I'm getting really aggravated with these people considering I spent $3900 on lift, tires, and gears that they said was for my truck.
