Hello, I have a 1986 Diesel Dually. Its a full floater. I did the brakes and pulled the axel's. when I finished I was going to fill diff with oil ...But....
there is no filler plug on cover
Is the breather vent on the axel the level as well? (should I use this just like a plug in a cover?)
If not... does anyone know how much oil to put in
On my fords the plug is not on the cover its near where the driveshaft comes in on the drivers side about half way back just below center line, its recessed and takes either 3/8 or 1/2 inch rachet (with extension) to fit it
You have a 10.25" Sterling axle.
The filler plug is drivers side front beside the pinion shaft.
Recessed 1/2" square plug opening.
1/2" extension and a rachet will get it out.
Thanks... Thats what I have.. Filled it to level.. Good to go! I am now going to remove that goofey brake leveling system that seems is only installed on my truck. Manual told me to get a new one if I had any questions about it... So its got a date with the trash can...
When I plow snow, all the backing and braking gets my rear brakes adjusted so tight that I am afraid to take it off. The rear wheels lock up every time I step on the brakes with it on after a couple of hours of plowing.
