okay well.. im kind of worried because i got an engine put into my truck.. and it sounded great .. alot more quit because apparently the old engine had an exhuast leak at amnifold .. any ways... about 120 miles onto the new motor and the engine (1985 ford 300.. carb) stalls when idling .. and idles low RPM;s and runs really crappy and pours black smoke at low speeds .. but once i get up to higher speeds it seems to work better any thoughts?
Could be just a simple adjustment of the idle Jet by screwing it in or out a tick.
Or you coluld have to completely replace the Jet.
You've not listed what the carb. is, but I imagine that you could contact the manufacturer & get them to send you 1 or find 1 on the Net or go to your local Library & look it up.
