Two block heaters
Man was it nice. In Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA it gets to -40 C or F
with a wind at the same speed. That truck was half way to operating temperature when it was first started. It sure was nice. Used lots of power though.

Two block heaters?
Did you use a timer on the power cord to cut power consumption?
I had a neighbor that used an old quilt over the front of his van, to keep the wind out at night, along with a block heater.

a car warmer and a battery blanket on a 15 amp circuit. Went through about 2 or three plugs a year. Never tripped a breaker though.

Now,I have two block heaters and ONE Oil Pan heater for the 429.
I use a special outdoor timer and a heavy 50' extension cord with 8 gauge wire in it, for them.

I don't know the designations you use in Canada for wire but the distance between the outlet and the power panel and size of the wire do matter. You may need to up the wire size or replace the outlet with a good commercial grade unit. Your plugs should not be giving out, try using a commercial grade unit on them also with a little silicone dielectric on the connections if they are exposed to varying weather conditions. I use dielectric on any connection in unheated spaces or in the basement. I also use dielectric on outdoor extension cord plug ends.
