2000 ranger 4x4 3.0
ok , when coming to a stop and turning right the abs kicks in. the light does not come on ( checked bulb it works).. does not do it any other time. i did a full brake job a year ago. this just started happening a week ago. today i pulled off rotors and calipers ( even wear) . drums look good and adjusted them a bit. but it still does it. any help would be great!! thanks.
So the ABS light comes on when turning right and pressing the brakes? Sounds like a loose wire on one of the sensors. Have you checked all the connections?
According to the 2000 service manual, unwarranted ABS activity is caused by either: Circuitry or the Anti-lock brake sensor.
To check the anti-lock brake sensor output, spin the suspect wheel at a constant speed, measure the AC voltage between the suspect anti-lock brake sensor terminals. Is the anti-lock brake sensor output between 100 and 3,500 mVolts? If yes, repair the suspect anti-lock brake sensor circuit(s) in question . If no, replace the sensor.
