Exclamation Help Remove Steering Wheel!!

I am installing a OEM Ford speed control kit on my 04 Ranger Edge V6 3.0L, and just wanted some info on removing the steering wheel/airbag. I have a general idea of how it is done but I wanted to see if anyone had any advice/tips on this and if anyone has installed this kit, any issues they had and the solution would be great... Thanks ahead of time!

Never touch airbag circuit before you disconnect the battery (s). The book says 2 minutes, I go 10 to be safe; some on this site have said 1hr or more. I've never had a problem with 10 minute wait. Next you'll need a steering wheel puller at the very least. there isn't any other way to do this, at least without potentialy breaking something. Also, do not hammer on the steering coluum because you can crush the "crush zone" designed in for crash protection - need to replace coluum if you do. Sometimes a "light" tap is in order to help seperate the old wheel once you have tension on the puller - just make sure it's a tap!
