recently i got an exhaust and soon after i noticed a thump from the front end while driving. dont' think there is any relation, just my luck for the next thing to go wrong. but i checked around the control arm, rotors, etc. and noticed this bolt and bushings missing.
the good one(driver side)
the bad one(passenger side)
any suggestions on what happened, what i need to get and replacement price. thanks
That is your anti-sway bar link. Like vloney said it is something that you can do in the driveway. Go to your local auto parts store and get a repair kit for it. Good luck!
Sway bar end link kits should cost you no more then $10 each, it is best to replace both at once. You will need a long pry bar to get the proper leverage on the sway bar to get the links on. Ford wants about $35 each for their end links. The ones form the parts store will look a little different then the stock parts, the only difference is the the Ford parts has a plastic covering over the center spacer.
edit
It looks like your driver side has been replaced before. you can see the difference in the bushing colors and center spacers.

hey thanks guys for the quick response. i was hoping it wouldn't be too expensive. i really appreciate it. but it's gonna rain here in a little bit and i have school tonight 15 miles away. would you guys recommend not to drive on it till i get it fixed. sat it's suppost to be dry but i got school/tonight and work/tomorrow.
Should be ok to drive it until then, I've had this happen on several cars over the years, and it's not a real cause for concern. Just get it fixed soon and you should be fine.
