Just realized today that my 2000 EB that has factory 17 inch rims has a 16" spare, with different size tire. is this supposed to be, does anyone really have a 17" spare. will one fit?
I can't remember what size my spare is, I wanna say its a 17" but wouldn't swear to it. I know I was dissappointed to find it wasn't the "chrome" wheel style like on the truck. Its just an old beater unstyled - stamped steel rim. Without knowing, I would also guess a 17" would fit there b/c the tires usually make up the size difference b/t the rims, i.e. the 16" rim has more of a sidewall than the "lower profile" 17's do.
There's no reason a 17" rim and tire wouldn't fit unless the tire is way oversized. My Expy came with 30" wheel/tires and I have 33" on now with a similar sized spare combo.
I have 2000 Nav---17in OEM wheels and tires---spare is 17in on plain and ugly steel wheel.
Did you buy the Expy new? If not someone has switched the spare---it would not be adviseable to use that 16in spare on the vehicle with a 17 on the other side especially on the rear---I don't even like running one new and one used on the rear axle even if they are the same size! But that's me!
