My cab squeaks a lot when I hit a bump or go over an uneven surface and it is coming from the upper bushings connecting the frame to the cab. It drives me nuts. Anyone have this problem before? Anyone have a solution or suggestion?
Thanx in advance!
Are you sure it's the body mount bushings? These trucks are notorious for having squeaky leaf spring eye bushings. Up until I swapped out the stock rubber bushings for polyurethane ones, my suspension would squeak like crazy, especially if it was really cold outside. Ever since I've replaced the bushings the squeaks are gone.
What yr truck ?
there was a TSB back a few yrs on the frame to body bushings.
The holes in the body/cab were rubbing on the bolts themselves causing a squeak and a popping noise.
I believe the fix was to loosen all body bolts while the truck was on a level concrete floor then retorque them to spec.Loosen all before retorque

My truck is a 99.5. It is definately not the leaf spring bushings, I changed all of them to energy suspension a while ago which are great by the way. I performed the tsb by replacing the lower bushings and opening the holes up, but that did not help, it stopped the popping but the squeaking got worse. The only thing that helps is if I spray some lubricant on them, it goes away for a couple of days and then starts back up again.
Have you looked for broken welds along the area of the floorpan. We had some that the welds had broken or were not completed from the factory.
I believe there is a seam that runs rather close to a few body mount positions.
