Can someone measure their 29 gallon tank? That would end the confusion for me.

Thanks,
Tedd

I'll measure my tank tommorow if noone else gets to it first. Although mine is a GAS tank not a Diesel tank. I have the 29 gallon tank. I usually run it pretty low before filling up. I usually put in 29 or a little more. I keep really detailed gas records and after 51 fill ups have put over 30 gallons in on seven occasions. 33.048 being my biggest fill up (at only $1.06/gal. too bad those days are over.) I haven't harpooned my tank but I sometimes trickle the last gallon or two in. I'm sure this was the case for the 33 gal fill up.

I have a 2000 V10 Superduty witha 27gal tank. At 10.2mpg, I wish it came with a larger tank! My 95 Bronco with a 351 V8 has a 32gal tank! Filled up today $70.00! That might start cutting into the beer budjet.

I have put 31.7 in my '06 FX4 Lariat Crew Cab 6.0. No harpoon. Usually takes quite a while to get the last 4-5 gallons in.

Yeah, but did your low fuel alarm go of. Mine did not go off yet, still had almost 1/8 tank left.

No, Mine comes on with about 50-75 miles left to empty. Gauge is a little less than 1/8 tank left when it does. You are probably getting close. I have run mine down to zero miles to empty and still made it to a station but I don't recomend it

Still doesn't explain why the tank measures the same as a 38 gallon tank.
Can you measure the exterior dimensions of your tank? Mine is 60" long, I forgot the other measurements.

This is way off, but on our mercedes G wagon it says it is out of gas, the light one, the dash blinking VISIT FILLING STATION, and the needle is down below E. Well when you fill it up it holds 20-21 gallons. I ask the dealer and they said " some have not quite correct gauges" bottom line when im out of gas and walking by the needle, i still have between 4-5 gallons of fuel left.

Now on my buddys old 94 F150 XLT, Ford some how put the sender in the tank on a angle. Ford said they would fix it but it would be down for some real long time. Long story short he was a hole mark. say when it was reading F it had a 3/4 when it read 3/4 it had a half, or maybe it was the other way, At any rate lol... he took a magic marker and colored all the markings out then on the plastic over lay of the dash put the real marks..
