Correct me if I am wrong but a stock 2BBL 302, 1984, is only putting out about 140HP right. Does anyone know what I will get if I replace the stock intake and carb with a Edelbrock performer dual plane intake and Holley 4150 4BBL??
would think you would see some nice gains honestly, we have changed several vehicles over from a stock carb and intake to a 4 barrel and edelbrock intake and they where all very pleased. Some even already had a 4 barrel and still said it was a noticable difference.
My '72 302 is rated at 133 hp. Things that I have done to it to improve performance are;
-Put in a Summit cam with 204º/.448" intake, 214º/.472" exhaust. This still gives a smooth idle but the increased lift made a noticable difference in low and midrange torque.
-Installed long tube headers and 2 1/4" exhaust with turbo mufflers. Made a little increase in torque and power. Louder
-Pertronix point replacer and high output coil. Little increase in power...starts and runs better.
-Edelbrock performer intake and 1406 carb. Not much increase in power but starts and runs way better. Look nicer.
Overall it feels pretty strong. Would anyone know what this combination should put out.
