what does a Accel performance Module DO?

what does a Accel performance Module DO?

I have a 1987 ford 150 with a 302 I had been looking for a chip or performance module and i ran across the accel performance module for $55 instead of 250 for the hypertech's etc i know accel is a good brand i was wondering if any input from anyone if they have one

well I'm not a fan of their wires. I've heard some reliability issues about them. I'm guessing that the performance module is just a chip, which changes your fuel and ignition setup. I'm guessing an advanced timing is what they're after, but I don't really have intimate knowedge on the subject. I didn't even know the 87 had enough electronics for a chip.

The performance module is a replacement ignition module not a chip, it replaces the module on the side of your distributor. I'm not sure what they do to make it a "performance" module but personally I feel the money could be beter spent on other mods.

huh, well if it's just for that then I'm guessing timing. But yeah it's probably better to go intake or coils or something.
