I am needing some front end body parts after I came into intimate contact with the front of a Chebby Suburban that was traveling to fast on a snow covered mountain road. He crossed the center line and "Ker-Pow"! Right into my once near perfect 70 F250 4x4. He had to be towed away, I drove AWAY! :-) His insurance is going to total mine and I feel a screwing coming my way. I will be stuck trying to repair it. Adjuster said $5,000 in damage.
Anyway, I have a copy of the Ford Body/Interior Assembly manual for my 1970 F250. I am needing the inner fender apron assemble. The book makes reference to an "Aux Power Pack" option when selecting this. I feel sure I don't have this but, .... what is it anyway? It makes a difference when picking inner aprons.
Tip of the day: If ya have a small fortune tied up in yer truck like I do, you might want to consider getting some additional insurance to cover instances like I am going through. Wish I did!
Sorry to hear about your misfortune Lee, I guess the saying "they don`t make`em like they used to" is really true.
Ithink you`re referring to a generator ie power pak option.
someone correct me if I1m mistaken.
I think dennis carpenter has the inner panels.
Hope this helps,
John
No, I'm am not looking to go to an Aux battery system. I just need to order the Apron and want to make sure I got the right one. Guess now that I know what it's for it does not matter as either will fit.
Sorry, Dennis, but that 'aux power pack' option actually is a five horse Onan generator, not an extra battery. The RH aux battery tray actually fits on the stock apron. Lee, you need the apron without the power pack.
Holy Crap Batfolks,
He's right !
I had never seen that in my 70 Brochure.
In fact,I have never even heard of this before.
Now that I've just seen a photo of it:
"Boy does that ever fill the fender area inside"
Hey, speaking of bad luck, when i first got my truck I wasn't real used to manual brakes. My first time on the highway i was going about 75 and the trafic stopped. Make a long stroy short i slammed into a brand new bonneville. I did $5500 in damage to the back of it and $0 to my truck, unless you count the scraped bumper but when i first got it it was messed up anyways. Also once in my focus a caravan come across the center line and hit the drivers side corner of my front bumper. I only needed paint, the van was totaled. Leave it to Ford to make the best cars and trucks on the road. If everyone just drove Fords we wouldn't need insurance. They try to screw you all the time anyways even if its nbot your fault.
