Keyless Entry Pad Battery

I am looking for an aftermarket battery for my keyless entry pad on my 2004 truck. I found out today from the dealer that Ford has discontiued the P/N for the battery and is saying that you have to buy a whole pad assy when it goes dead.

Radio Shack (or similar electronics shop) should be able to hook you up. If you have a Batteries, etc. in your area, that'd be another solid choice. And, the major department stores (JC Penny's, Sear's, etc.) generally have a pretty sizable selection of batteries at their watch counter.

Radio Shack does not carry the battery.
It's a Rayovac BR2335. I found it through a Google search.

Based off your signature, your truck came with the pad and it is wired in to the truck.

I thought only the 05/06 models had the wired keypad on the door. If you have one on a previous year it's an added-on stick-on type, battery powered.

And of course the key fob is battery powered.

rotormech, is it the key fob that has the dead battery?

From a 2004 order guide the keypad was changed to a wired in option. Check page 2.

Ah, thanks Heavy. That's a handy document. Didn't realize the 60/40 fold bench that folds up and down and has the tray came out in 04... thought it was new for 05.

Do you have links for the same doc but for other model years? I tried playing with the address to get one for a 2000 but it didn't work out, and I couldn't find them on their site.
