Red face Gotta confess....

Oh man, this is embarassing, but if it helps anyone I suppose its worth having my tail between my legs.

Soooo....my truck was stuck in park. I re-started it, tried rocking it forward and back a few times. Re-started it another 40 times. I damn near yanked the gear shift out of the steering column.

Turns out you gotta have you foot on the brake for the gear shift to unlock. Duh.

I suppose I'm not completely embarassed. Been driving a standard for the past 10yrs...

It's also a good security feature.

I have a remote start on my '05 SCREW and it is designed to shut the engine off if the key is not inserted when the break is depressed in order to put it in gear. So basically, if I it is running in my driveway while I'm letting it warm up and someone tries to jump in and steal it, the second they press the break to put it in gear, the vehicle shuts off...providing me ample time to throw 2 or 3 .40 cal slugs into him
