Holding Shifts
Ok guys I have a question I have a E4OD Automatic in my 97 7.3 4x4 and I am having problems with it shifting real hard or holding the gear way to long, sometimes when I get on it it will not even shift it just revs out the tach then when I let off it go into gear it is definitely locking up when it does go into gear. My buddy overheated the tranny oil backing up his 5th wheel into the sideyard so I have since replaced the fluid twice and it is very clean and red. Every once in awhile it will throw a code and the O/D light will blink I just turn the truck off and on and it goes away. Do you think it is something they can fix or is the tranny on the way out? Thanks for all suggestions. Oh yeah I did blow out the tranny cooler and completely drain the converter when I change the fluids.
