Bought 1972 Ford F500 bucket truck with Med Duty 331 361 391 engine that blew... Put in 360 light duty pickup truck engine... Used heavy flywheel from 331 with the pickup engine....Bolted up fine... Added $200 heavy duty clutch & P Plate.... And the whole thing VIBRATES... Have removed the flywheel and am now told by engine balancing guy I need to replace the flywheel with the original that came with the 360.... That flywheel is gone! Will a flywheel off another 360 (same year) work?
Not sure what year 360 is.... Do numbers from block F23 or 1F23 and 105 tell me what year??? If so will somebody tell me?
Aside from all the jokes.... What would YOU do... And if these numbers aren't the right ones, where do I find the right ones???
PS (I got in this trouble when somebody in this forum told me both engines were internally balanced and so the flywheel swap would work....)
I know the 360 is externally balanced, and the 390 is internally balanced because I did that once :-) Just find another 360 flywheel and you'll be fine.
