The axel spline stripped on my stock 351m/400 4x4 and I bought a used complete rear end for $50.00. Rather than change the the whole rear end--I dis-assembled the new rear end and used the axel and the small gears to fix my problem.
Now-My questions are: What are the left over parts that look like some kind of clutch rings.-Could this be a posi-rear end? If it is ---will it work in my truck?
those are clutch packs for the limited slip.. the side gears won't work in an open carrier, i'd just swap the whole thing out and be done with it.. JMO
