Removing the Cat...

I was looking to remove the cat from my 99 F250 with the 5.4l. What kind of a power differance will this make? Has anyone here done this?

you won't notice any real difference other than noise. If you only have one O2 sensor then you can just remove the cat.

don't do it ! the pcm and engine are made to run their best with them on plus there are heavy federal fines for removeing them.

I agree with Captain. As a test I removed it from my V10 and besides the additional interior noise it created, I lost power. Some degree of back pressure is needed for these engines to run right so if the cat is removed the exhaust becomes way to open. It didn't take me long to put it back on though.

Leave it on unless it's clogged, which is rare. Won't help with power at all.

No he's not cursing us. just some down under slang. nothing bad.
and that bull was heading to become a bbq. broke out of the cattle trailer in route to the local steak making house.
funny watching watching cops trying to stop him and people running away.
