OK i did a search and couldnt find what it is, a CCV mod?
Second, I just purchased the bully dog power pup programmer for my 7.3, the towing level is awesome, I cant believe the diffrence, the 75 and 120 HP I cant really tell a diffrence from the 50? Is this normal?
Third I see these posts where guys are getting 18 19 MPG, i get 13 14 on good days. I dont drive like a mainiac I do drive about 200 to 300 miles a day, are these guys never going above 1500 RPM, I am happy with 13 or 14 but man 18 would be awesome?
truck info,
2002 4x4 CC Short box, 7.3, tymer intake, 4" exhaust turbo back.
oh the programmer seems to have given me about 1 more mpg.
I knwo this is alot but thanks for the help, I am trying to keep up with all you crazy strokers out there.
Not all PSD are created the same. I get crappy milage too. My best tank has been 16 MPG (All Highway and 2100 RPCs) and it is usually between 12-14 depending on how much driving I do. Yeah, I have a few bolt ons, but I usually keep my Six Gun on setting 3, which is suppost to be optimal.
I ran the bully dog power pup downloader for 1 year before my dp-tuner and although it is nothing compared to the DP, you should definantly be able to tell a difference between the 50 and 125 setting. Also, I would not advise using the transmission shift program as it really slams through gears. Good luck and have fun!!
ok that makes more sense on the MPG issue, now what is this CCV mod?
YEllow, so did you see a big diffrence from the bully dog to the DP ?
whats the pro's and cons?thanks
WOW!! Did I see a big difference???!! That would be a gross understatement!! Don't want to knock the bully dog as i know you paid around $450 for it, but the honest truth is that there is no comparison! The dp on the 80 setting will blow away the bully dog on the 125 setting, so you can just imagine what my truck does on the 140!!! You can seriously get nearly twice as much power from the dp as you get from the bully dog, not to mention MUCH better tranny performance. The BD on the 125 alays made a bad "rattling noise" in the motor when under high accel and it bothered me. Supposidly due to poor timing with the BD. The BD is an okay product, but I will NEVER go back and will always take a DP over it. Don't want to dampen your spirits, but i can give you this info from first hand experience. ENJOY!

My experience is that I do well on MPG as long as I keep it below 2K on the tach. How many of us like being passed like that? Hence lower MPGs. Need a better interstate gear.
I don't know who Guzzle is, but he takes some awesome pictures!! His descriptions and workmanship are some of the best I have seen! Check out some of his other mods and descriptions, thanks to Guzzle!
