guages

im getting tired of the idiot guages in my truck and having it run out of gas before it gets to empty. i was thinking about useing autometer pro-comp guages and the original guage cluster but have a diamond plate background. putting the 3 3/8" speedo in the middle with turn signal and high beam idicators over it and having the fuel guage and volt meter on left and and having oil pressure and temp guage on the right and then put a vaccuum guage in the space above the light/wiper switch. all the guages besides the speedo are 2 5/8" what i was wondering is if i can fit 2 guages on each side. it doesnt have to be straight up and down one can be in the top right and one can be in the bottom left i was just wondering if i had room to do it. and if anyone has auto meter 2 5/8" guages what is the diameter of the bezel. the speedo says it is a 3 3/8" but on the instructions it shows that it is 3 3/4 on the outside of the bezel.

You are still going to run out of gas, your problem is in the sender in the tank, not the gauge. If you cut a hole in the dash for the speedo at 3 3/4, your gauge will fall thru the hole. I had the same problem with my kitchen sink,,,,,,but thats another long story...good luck with your project...Dahmer

i know that if i vut a 3 3/4" hole it will fall thought becuase that is the OD of the bezel. i was just curious on the size of the one for a 2 5/8" becuase the bezels might get in the way of each other.

my idea was to do something like this but i am wondering about clearance on the guages on the left and right side.

The bezel diameter on the 2 5/8" gauges is not 3 3/8". You're looking at the specs of 2 different gauges. I don't have the spec sheet here on this computer but I know the mounting hole itself is exactly 2 5/8". The bezel diamter is just under 2 7/8".

What about a tach? I think that with 2 bigger gauges (tach and speedo) in the middle surrounded by the 2 on each side would look pretty good too. It's what i plan to do.

i know the bezel diameter on the 2 5/8" guages is not 3 3/8" i was useing the 3 3/8" speedo as an example becuase the bezel on that is 3 3/4" according to dimensions i saw on the instructions on the summit site. thanks for the bezel diameter of the 2 5/8" guages.

about the tach in the middle i know the tach wont fit in there with the speedo so i was just going to mount a 5" tach to the a piller.
