Auto Transmission problems 2001
I'm hoping this is just a solenoid pack, or valve body problem. I drove about 70 miles this morning to do a job, and when I got off the freeway it seemed to shift pretty hard into 1st when coming to a stop. When I took off it held first too long, then when I slowed to turn it made a loud click when trying to shift. I finished the job and started to check it out. Fluid is super clean, tranny temp was 140 or so. I decided to drive home.
Once in 3rd and OD it runs great. I made it home OK. When starting out it goes like normal, then seems to be in neutral until 2nd pulls your fillings out of your teeth. Usually does the loud click a few times until it shifts. 2nd-3rd is a little smoother but does the same thing.
The OD light started flashing when I got close to home. Speedo still works, and it didn't do it early on.
Fluid is still like new. Mobil 1 with about 15,000 miles on it. Truck has 50k. V10, 4x4 250 crew.
I'm going to pull the pan once it cools down a bit, and pull the solenoid pack and check it out. I've rebuilt a few trannies and if I have to I'll rebuild the whole thing, but I'm hoping it's something electrical.
