Is a 390 Possible?
I found a 390 with C6 on eBay pretty cheap and I would like to shove it in my '81 but I was wondering if anyone knew if mounts and towers are available for 80's trucks. Thanks

Nope.Never came factory,but i dunno about the aftermarket.You may have to make custom motormounts but that isnt to hard.You can get 460 mounts and towers from a JY and be the best as it gets.Go 460 or go home.hehe.

considering the 300 6 and fe frame mounts from the seventies were the same, I'd say it "might" be possible. The seventies mounts for 300's were located in the front holes, and the fe's were located in the rear holes. The difference in length can be transferred to an 80's truck with a 300, as you would relocate the 300's frame mounts back that same amount as a seventies one. I doubt there's rear bolt holes, but it's possible the holes are there for a 302, which would then mean you could mount 300 6 frame mounts and see if it fits. The motor mounts may be a different height which would make it difficult to seat the engine. I've never done it, but I'd be curious if it works. The trannies are the same except for internal shift linkage bar. which may or may not hook up to the 80's shifter.
