I have a '68 F100 with a 360/C6 and 3.54 rear axle. It seems that the transmission shifts really early (2nd at approx. 20mph) and (3rd at approx. 30 or lower sometimes right behind 2nd). Is this normal for my setup or is there a way to adjust for slightly higher shift points?
There is a screw in the modulator on the tranny. Just pull the rubber hose off and you can turn it by 1/2 turns until you get it where you like it. Just keep a log of your turns so you can go back, or go the other way if you need to. Beware of the hot exhaust pipe whe adjusting after a test run.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
Sounds like the kickdown is not hooked up. At WOT the vaccum regulator plays a very small part on shift points. Is this happening at all the time or just at part throttle?
