I've called 2 Assemblymen
For Hoyt, I verified I am in his district & asked for the data they are basing their opinions on as I was interested in reading it. For Gantt, I pointed out I off road in APPROVED areas & need the brush guard for that. I also pointed out if we have to remove them & reinstall "on site" we're likely to be re-installing incorrectly which could cause major problems.
Both assistants were VERY nice & helpful. I feel confident they will make sure my messages are delivered. In Gantt's case, she did offer to give my message to someone who can call me back.
If you call, start with your local assemblyman & then work on up. BE POLITE, CONCISE & DO NOT ARGUE. Be dispassionate & just state your concerns/objections. We will not win over anyone if we sound like a bunch of rednecks & troublemakers. Don't worry - we DO have the ultimate power if you VOTE! That's why it's CRITICAL to excercise your right to vote - it's the EASIEST form of excercise any of us can do!
It's also the most important!Good luck - start calling!
