I have a 2000 X PSD. I am going to add a leaf spring at all four corners. My question is: with Bilstein shocks, should I get the stock Excursion shocks? or will it change the lift of my truck, and I would need to go with a different size?
And NO!!! No OEM shocks are allowed on a cool "X". Get the Bilstein 5100's. They are awsome. Don't forget to add a hellwig sway bar. The combo is an amazing improvement in perfromance and ride quality. You will not regret any $$$ spent on these.
I am putting a Warn heavy duty bumper and winch on the front. I have only the winch on now, and I can already tell the difference (the front end is lower). The bumper will add even more weight. I had the same system on my F250. The front springs made a huge difference.
I thought I would add the springs to the back while I'm at it. I will be using this X like a van to haul and will have some heavy loads in the inside. (I might even haul my mother-in-law, but I can't say that because my wife would get mad, plus they're both on a diet.)
Let me rephrase my question. I believe that the springs will add heighth to my suspension. Should I get the Bilstein shocks for an Excursion (part # BE5-6208(9 for rear)-H0) ? Or should I get the Bilstein shocks for an F250?
I am also planning on adding a sway bar. (I'm waiting for my money tree to bloom.)
