New York Introduces Bill to Ban the Use of Grille/Brush Guards
A bill (A.B. 10116) has been introduced in the New York Legislature to prohibit the public road use of motor vehicles equipped with a grille or brush guard. The bill has been referred to the Assembly Transportation Committee for consideration and a vote.

A.B. 10116 relies on unsubstantiated claims that these grille guards create the potential of greater harm to other vehicles in the event of a collision.


A.B. 10116 relies on unsubstantiated claims that grille guards obstruct airbag sensors, rendering the airbags useless in an accident.


A.B. 10116 would require owners of vehicles currently equipped with grille guards (including those purchased with this equipment from a dealership) to remove these guards.

that is crazzy, just goes to show you that the US is selling out. what free country?? and its only going to get worse. sometimes i wonder if i am doing something wrong when i am walking down the street.

 

Next thing and we wont be able to have aftermarket bumpers of any kind, especially not those 1/4" plate winch bumpers... and putting non-factory fog lights will surely mess up the air bag sensor too. And soon to come will be the ban of any vehicle that doesnt meet current standards. I fear the day.

Maybe I should suggest they ban semi-trucks on the road since they pose such a significate threat in a collision with a passanger vehicle!?!

 

might as well go for it. you never know they might pass it. i just do not like the turn our country is taking. its not a very good one. i feel like this country is not free any more. they laws like this and people who think of laws like that, just blow it out of proportion. i just dont understnad it. all i see is things getting worse and not better.

 

If anything, those guards would probably protect your vehicle, well at least the front anyway, from someone hitting you or you hitting them.

 

Well then I think all these turds that make these law would quit running the red lights, I wouldn't have to have a push bar to PROTECT ME. But I agree that I don't like all these law anymore, Something is not right, I to feel that I'm always doing something wrong going down the street. I think these law makers have to push something though in order to get a pay check.

 

what kind of idiots come up with those ideas, and why, I dont see how a brush guard can impeed a sensor from going off. just another way for the man to limit us, crazy nutheads.
