Rear end lower on one side
I have a '05 F350 SRW. I had the truck in to the dealer, and they did the measurements(while empty), and reported back that it was only 1/4" different side-to-side and as such would not do anything. I checked it and I agree with the measurements.
The part that bugs me is that when loaded within a 1/4" of the overload springs(bed load of firewood, or Travel trailer hooked up, etc) then the difference is more noticeable. I went and measured per the method outlined in the TSB 04-23-6 (http://community.webshots.com/photo/353387290/1353387571046970382kvMwIx), and it is about 3/4 or 7/8 difference. It seems more like the spring is weaker on the one side, and just adding a shim as in the TSB doesnt really seem to address this. I'm sure if I was loaded too the overload springs it would level back out, but I'm not loaded that heavy very often. What really makes this irritating is that when I pull my Travel trailer, it has horizontal siding, so when driving, I look out my rear view mirror, and the crookedness is really noticeable. It was not that way when new.
What do you guys think?? Can you give me some feedback on this concern? I'm going to take it back in to the dealer, but I don't want to be sent away again without it being fixed.
Dave
