Odometer
Okay here goes,
I go on vacation overseas for a month, I get back my knucklehead dad buys a used Saturn Vue from a Dodge dealership. I take it out for a spin and see that It has 37,778 miles and the bill of sale has 37,788. So im like in total wonder about this and so I decide to take the car for another spin and low and behold the mileage rolled back to 37,770. After all this my brother and I drive it halfday to see what it exactly was doing and when the mileage would reach 37790 it would just reset back to 37770. I feel as if my dad has been ripped off since he doesnt really know exactly what the mileage is on this vehicle. What are our rights and where do we start ? please help me out on this....

take it back to the dealer. If they give you any trouble about taking the car back go to the DMV and explain the problem. I dont know what state youre from but here in NewYork the dealer would be taking the car back because the mileage is "TMU"...(true mileage unknown)....and is worth significantly less than normal

Just kidding. I have never heard of a problem like that from the factory, what kind of dealer was this. I know you said it was a Dodge dealer, but are they a factory dealer? It sounds like someone tampered with the odometer, but I'm not for sure.

yup, i agree. somebody done been fiddlin with the speedo internals and got it all fubar now. actually though, ain't the gm speedo computer controlled like the ford units?? if it is, you should be able to retrieve the true mileage out of the cars main computer i think.
