I have a 84 f150 with a 351W with a 4 speed. I had to rebuild it but now have no clutch pressure.Form what i have seen in the books i would have to get a whole new clutch assembly from the factory. I'm sure there is a way to pressurerize it. Any Idea?
Did you rebuild the motor or tranny? Are you having a problem with the clutch connecting the tranny input to the flywheel or are you having a problem with the clutch releasing? The clutch should constantly connect the input shaft to the flywheel untill the clutch fork applies force to the throw out bearing. You can climb under the truck and try to manual move the fork to see if it is binding causing the clutch not to engage. Also the throw out bearing might be caught between the pressure plate fingers and the shaft on the transmission input.
thank for responding
i rebuilt the motor.when i push the clutch in it goes straight to the floor and does not come back up. which i didnt undo the spring under the dash
the throw out bearing is free if i take the fork out to look at it
Do you have a hydraulic or mechanical clutch pedal set up. When you mean you have no clutch pressure, is that at the pedal or at the pressure plate. If you have the hydraulic setup and the pedal goes to the floor, and you have no external hydraulic fluid leaks, either your clutch master or slave cylinder is bad. They are not that hard to replace, but a pain in the butt to bleed all the air out of the system.
